Prime Minister Antonis Samaras announced that ministers' salaries would be reduced by 30% and warned them to be careful in their public appearances.

Former chairman of the National Bank of Greece Vasilis Rapanos is the new Minister of Finance. His name was one of the first suggested for the post and apparently, New Democracy, PASOK and the Democratic Left have unanimously approved it.

The ministers will take oath at 7 pm and then will held their first meeting.

If this happens it will be a precedent in which the market of a European Union country for the first time will be cut to a developing economy.
