Wave of strikes will cover Greece this spring

The Union of Greek state workers announced that on April 22 they will hold a 24-hour work strike, which will involve all state employees in the country. Strikes are also scheduled for April 27 and after May 1. The trade unions of the Greek Communist party PAME will express their disagreement with government policies through a 48-hour labor strike on April 21 and 22.

IMF: The only way out for Greece is deflation

Head of International Monetary Fund (IMF) Dominique Strauss-Kahn urges the Greek authorities to adopt new measures to reduce wages and prices in the country. He welcomed the plan for aid, which was finally approved on Sunday by the Member States in the eurozone, but is adamant that Greece should undertake immediate measures to strengthen their competitiveness.
