Employees should be counted… in the summer

The number of employees in the public sector has never been clear. Neither the government is aware of how many people it has working for it (it believes them to be around 800,000), how much they cost it, in which agencies and institutions they are employed and what duties they perform. Census of the public sector employees begins officially on July 12 and will end on July 23. The goal is for the administration to finally has a clear idea of the human resources available and to be able to control their payments because there are many cases where there is a double payment.



The prosecution ordered an investigation of the publications that talk about bankruptcy

Prime Minister George Papandreou confirmed from Vienna that the rumors for the return to the drachma are "Nonsense "that" seek to terrify the citizens". Court prosecution has ordered an urgent investigation because of the publications in the press that talk about "bankruptcy" of the country and about the "exit of the Greek economy of the euro and its return to the drachma."

Victory over the guests gave Greece reason for joy as the athletes from Netherlands have won the gold medal at the Olympics in Beijing. This was the first victory of the Greeks over the Netherlands out of the eight meetings total that the teams had.
