Shock in the local community is enormous. This is the second violent crime that happens in the small Cycladic island after the attack on the 15-year-old girl near the beach "Golden Coast" on 22 July. Residents are now speaking openly about the lack of enough police officers, which endangers everybody's lives - both the island's residents and the holiday makers.

"For me the sad loss of Dimitris shows once again the lack of sufficient police on Paros. Let decision-makers hear this and let this be the last person who loses their lives this way", added Yiannis Petropoulos.
