The hotline of the General Secretariat for Gender Equality received 12,500 calls from women who have been victims of violence in the last two and a half years and up until September 2013 alone.
"Nikos" is already included in the lists of the police with his new name but is awaiting the decision of the police health committee to decide whether he can continue to perform his duties.
