The game of Olympiakos and Efes Pilsen last night finished with a result of 93:85. The game was played in Turkey and secured for the red and white team a step for the first place in the second group of the Eruoleague. In spite of the numerous careless mistakes, the team of Panagiotis Giannakis did not give up and fought “until the last breath” in order to dominate over the hosts. The game of both teams was strong and dynamic, and the teams were taking turns to gain the upper hand, which gave a real thrill to the game. The difficult fight at the end was won by Olympiakos with the conclusive throw of Skuni Pen two minutes before the end of the game… The point of Skuni Pen was the first one for the player wearing the red and white shirt and the game itself was not less symbolical to the American player – Efes Pisen was the former team of Pen…

Because of the dynamic rhythm of the game, the team of Olympiakos couldn’t always manage with its defense. The hosts did not miss to use these weaknesses of their guests. And so just before the end of the first period they evened the score 19:19 with a point scored by Shumpert and with the point scored by Santiago they gained the lead at the end of the period.

A wonderful game showed the players of Teodosic and Childress. Childress impress once again with his great technique and almost didn’t have a throw without scoring. His impressive game is a proof that his presence in Olympiakos is one of the most successful transfers of European basketball.

The guests also had many lost positions – almost half of the throws were carelessly unsuccessful. With the entrance of Beverley in the game, Olympiakos obviously improved their stand and gained the lead.

During the second period the team of the hosts fell behind, however it did not stop fighting and used when the guests again had problems with the defense to gain the lead 66-61. The lost points of the team were skillfully gained back by Childress.
