Following the information provided by citizens the Greek police are investigating two Roma couples in Sparta that have been raising two children aged about 4 years. The children differ anthropologically from the Roma families but the alleged parents insist that they were their biological children.

The inspections and DNA testing have proved that the 4-year-old children really are not their biological children, nor do the two Roma families have documents for legal adoption. The police believe that this is a case of kidnapping. According to Skai TV, both children are from Bulgaria.

The four Roma, a family of two 29-year-old members and a family of one 35-year-old member and one 27-year-old member, are charged with abduction of minors and will face the prosecutor on Monday. The two small children, a boy and a girl, are sheltered at the organization "The Smile of the Child".

The Greek media note that this is another case of illegal adoption of children in the town of Sparta.
