The Greek police have apprehended two men who are believed to be supporters of terrorist Christodoulos Xiros who was captured two weeks ago.

One of the men is a Greek, aged 54 and the other an Albanian, aged 37. Assumingly, he is the man who had presented himself as "Harris" and rented the house, hideaway, in Anavyssos and who was wanted by the anti-terrorism service.

The two men were apprehended late on Tuesday afternoon in the town of Kalamata in the southern Peloponnese, to where they had escaped after the arrest of Christodoulos Xiros. According to the investigating authorities, both were part of the operational team of the terrorist and they would have participated in the planned pogrom against Korydallos prison.

According to the arrest warrant, the charges against them include membership in a terrorist group, manufacture, supply and possession of explosives and bombs, illegal possession of weapons, hand grenades and explosives, and falsification of public documents to conceal a criminal.

The detainees are under arrest at the anti-terrorism service in the building of the General Police Directorate of Attica and they will testify before the prosecutor by the end of the day.

According to the Greek daily Kathimerini, the 54-year-old Greek is a degraded policeman who had telephone contacts with Xiros. Immediately after the arrest of the terrorist, he and the 37-year-old Albanian had hid in the house of the former policeman in the region of Kalamata near Githio. Both have criminal records - in the past, the charges against the 37-year-year old included robbery of a kiosk and distribution of drugs. The 54-year-old degraded policeman was accused of involvement in a cigarette smuggling network that was broken up in the Peloponnese about a year and a half ago.

According to the first reports, the Albanian had introduced himself as Teoharis Chrisakis. The pre-trial case indicates that in the period 15-25 May 2014 he had called the owner of the house in Anavyssos and told him that he was interested in renting it.

Three days after the first call, Teoharis and the owner arranged an appointment to agree on the final renting of the house for the sum of 250 euro per month.

"The particular man came to the meeting dressed in a navy officer's uniform. Apparently he was about 30 years old, 1.85 m tall, a strong man, with dark features and narrow beardless face, with short black hair and dark eyes," state the court documents.

The investigation has revealed that at the meeting with the owner of the house "Teoharis" had presented an identification card with the name Teoharis Chrisakis, which was issued on 9 May 2013.

According to  the testimony, he had changed the car that he was driving and the owner of a pharmacy in Anavyssos told the police that shortly before Christmas he had visited her, wearing ¾ trousers. Then she noticed that he had tattoos on his arms and one leg.

Another woman, a resident of Anavyssos, stated in her testimony that the 37-year-old often limped due to frequent injuries to his legs, which he explained with his work at the Coast Guard.
