With a final score of 92:57 finished the game between the basketball teams of  Panathinaikos and Panionios which was played at the OAKA stadium in Athens. Greens’ victory tonight was a step towards qualification for the semifinals of the playoffs of A1. The image which they presented did not leave a drop of doubt that they deserve it. Panathinaikos reminded of its  power and potential from two seasons ago. On the field it showed a very high quality and organized game in which contributions to the outcome had all the players.

And so the match began with a minimum lead in the score in favor of the guests. At the beginning of the first set they managed to take a lead by 7:6. The hosts, however, did not need plenty of time to turn the score in their favor. In a series of 7:0, they managed to catch up with Panionios and lead by 13:7. The largest number of points for the greens in the first half managed to score the guard Milenko Tepic. Contribution to the outcome also had the three points baskets of Vassilis Spanoulis and Giorgi Shermadini. So during the first 20 minutes Panathinaikos had won 49 points. The first half ended with the impressive score of 49:28.

The second half brought to the guests an even more unpleasant surprise. Panathinaikos not only did not ease off, but entered the field even more motivated to win. Goal number one was again the opponent's basket, while at the same time the greens blocked the access to their own. Breaking of the defense of the hosts became impossible. This practically meant that Panionios remains with no chances to catch up with their opponent. Indicative was the fact that during the third set the guests managed to score only 10 points. The superiority of the green was evident tonight. Their game was extremely dynamic and organized. That they are winners in this game became clear during the third set. Sure of the victory during the fourth set, they even slowed down their pace. But even this did not help Panionios make up for the loss in results.

Second game of the same round the teams will play on 03:05 in Athens, and the team of Panionios will be the host.
