Greek police found and seized three of the attackers, who had subjected an Egyptian citizen to a so far unprecedented physical and psychological violence on the island of Salamis near Athens last Saturday.

The man was found beaten and exhausted on Sunday morning. He was taken to hospital where he was treated and his life was out of danger. According to sources familiar with the case, he had been severely beaten, which resulted in numerous injuries to his body, including the kidneys.

The police seized the employer of the 29-year-old man as the organizer of the attack against him. Later, he confessed that the beating and violence were to punish the employee who was stealing money from the bakery. Earlier today, the police seized two other accomplices - the son of the employer and a friend of theirs.

In a special press conference the Ambassador of Egypt Tareq Adel had convened today, he explicitly condemned the attack against his countryman. He said that he had visited him in the hospital yesterday and that his condition was improving.

"We fully support the victim and expect justice to be served, including financial compensation," he said.

Tareq Adel said that the Embassy was in close contact with the Greek police authorities and the Ministry of Citizen Protection and thanked them for the rapid seizure of the attacker and his accomplices.

The Ambassador expressed his concern about other attacks on Egyptians, "The situation in Greece is difficult, but it does not explain the attacks on foreigners. We are working with the Greek authorities to solve this problem," Tareq Adel said. He would not identify the attack as racist, "before the completion of the investigation of the case. The assessment should be made by the police authorities," he added.

According to sources close to the victim, the attack happened on Saturday afternoon, at the end of the day, when the 29-year-old Egyptian was going to leave. Then, the conflict began and the employer took the money the employee was carrying in his purse and accused him of stealing it from the bakery. To conceal his offence, he tied the employee with a chain and along with his son and two accomplices, started beating him severely.

The man managed to escape in the early hours on Sunday and shortly afterwards, passers-by found him and informed the police.

Whether the attack on the 29-year old Egyptian was an act of racism or was caused by the sadism of his employer, there is evidence everywhere of the power that members of Golden Dawn have over ordinary people. An example of this is something that happened today on a crowded trolley bus, in which the passengers were elbowing each other because of the strike of the employees of the underground, trams and electric trains. In an attempt to validate her ticket and those of her friends, a young girl could not avoid touching a seated woman of apparent age over 65 years, despite her youthful clothing and hairstyle. She addressed the girl in a very rude manner by saying, "Don’t you push me like that."

When the girl apologized and justified the "pushing" with the fact that the trolley bus was full, the redhead woman literally astounded the passengers, who were standing around, by saying, "That's why I say we should all vote for Golden Dawn to clean the urban transport from the multitude of people and be able to travel freely." She did not even hesitate to repeat her words when she saw that they left the people around her speechless. The girl and her friends did not spare her some comments about her "politeness" and "humanity", but the silence that followed her words sounded scary.
