More and more trucks and tanks drivers for government procurement are flocking to the fourteen points on the highways in Greece, to demonstrate that it will not step back and will strengthen their protest actions. According to drivers on the highways around Athens have stopped a total of 750 trucks and tankers. After taking a decision the carriers of fuel withdrawn from use hundreds of tanks which they have stopped in both lanes of the highway Athens-Corinth and at the toll fee payment points close to Elevzina where there are also many truck stopped. The third assembly point is close to Haydari on the road Athens-Corinth, where trucks and cranes have stopped.

The strike of the carriers continues to be a problem for the traffic of cars also at the toll-fee payment points on the road to Corinth, at the area of Metamorfosis, on the Athens-Lamia highway, along the coastal highway in Athens, and particularly in Poseydonos Blvd near the Stadium of Peace and Friendship, at the junction Markopulos, on the Athens-Sounion Boulevard and at the intersection of the Alimos and Vulyagmenis boulevards.

The traffic police and the special police forces are at the assembly points, where the trucks have gathered and are monitoring the actions of the drivers from a distance. Officers have a clear order not to allow in any way to spread the protest of trucks to the center of Athens.

Early this morning the situation close to Elevzina became tense as the owners of the stopped trucks were preventing other trucks in motion to pass to Athens.

At the same time the first signs of problems in the market due to the constant protests are also starting to appear. There is a lack of basic consumer goods, including drugs and some problems encounter also the export companies that have 2000 containers of raw materials waiting at the port of Piraeus. Currently there are no problems in the fuel market as the petrol stations are being supplied by the tanks of the gasoline trade companies. Carriers are determined to continue their protests at least until Wednesday, when it is expected for the members of the Parliament to vote on the bill, reports APE-MPE.
