Tembi passage closed for three days

The general police directorate of Thessaly region has published a communication on the traffic regulation which will apply in Tembi passage on 10,11 and 12 November, due to the maintenance works on protective facilities against falling stones.

In particular, as stated in the announcement, the cirulation of all vehicles on the highway Ethniki Odos, Athens - Thessaloniki, will be banned from the exit for Girtoni to the intersection at Stomio from 07:00 am to 08:00 pm on the specific dates. Circulation of vehicles will be allowed after 08:00 pm.

During the ban, the vehicles will use the following alternative routes:

  • Vehicles travelling to Thessaloniki:

- Trucks heaver than 3.5 tons and all buses will be redirected:

  1. From the exit for Nicaea to the Larissa - Trikala ring road, and then from the Larissa - Trikala - Kalambaka - Grevena highway they will take the Egnatia Odos highway.
  2. From the exit for Girtoni where they will drive along the secondary road Girtoni - Ampelonas - Tirnavo - Elassona - Kozani - Egnatia Odos and will take the Ethniki Odos highway at the turn-off for Klidi, Imatia region.

- All cars and trucks heavier than 3.5 tons will be redirected:

  1. From the exit for Girtoni where they will take the secondary road Girtoni - Ampelonas - Tirnavo - Elassona - Micro Elefterohorio from where they will either be directed to the road Elassona - Agios Dimitrios - Katerini to take the Ethniki Odos, or will pass through Kozani along the Egnatia Odos and will then take the Ethniki Odos at the turn-off for Klidi, Imatia region.
  2. From the exit for Nicaea to the Larissa - Trikala ring road, then from the road Larissa - Trikala - Kalambaka - Grevena they will take Egnatia Odos.
  • Vehicles travelling to Athens:

- Trucks heavier than 3.5 tons and all buses will be directed from the exit for Klidi, Imatia region to Veria (Egnatia Odos) - Kozani, from where they will be able to take the following route:

  1. Kozani - Elassona - Tirnavo - Ampelonas - Girtoni to the exit for Girtoni where they will take the Ethniki Odos highway.
  2. Kozani - Grevena - Kalambaka - Trikala - Larissa, where they will take Ethniki Odos from the Larissa - Trikala ring road, at the exit for Nicaea.

- All cars and trucks heavier than 3.5 tons coming from Thessaloniki will be directed at the exit for Katerini to Agios Dimitrios and to the road Katerini - Elassona - Tirnavo - Ampelonas - Girtoni at the exit for Girtoni, where they will take the Ethniki Odos highway.

- All vehicles coming from Katerini - Platamonas will be directed to Katerini, and then they will follow the route previously mentioned. All vehicles entering the area of Larissa police department will be directed back to the exit for Egani and then subsequently to the relevant route through Katerini.
