The team of Panathinaikos opened a golden page in its history after at the Olympico stadium in Rome it managed to defeat easily with a score of 3:2 a strong opponent like Roma. Furthermore, this evening the team of Roma wanted to defeat the greens at any cost… However the evening belonged to the guests. In a game which enchanted everyone they demonstrated a fantastic image of a team which plays with ease and wins difficult and important games. The victory of the greens in Rome is their second spectacular victory over Roma. In the game which the two teams played at OAKA stadium in Athens the greens thought a good lesson to their guests and showed them that not only the victory is important, but also the way to achieve it. The turning of the game they made at the time by managing to make up for the lost points and then to take the lead in the score is something which the hosts of the game in Italy did not manage to do… And regardless of the fact that after the draw Roma was considered to be a front runner at the stadium things looked different. From the very beginning of the game Panathinaikos was going for a position to score. The same was also doing the team of Roma and in the 11th minute it scored its first goal made by the forward Riise. The goal of the hosts however did not scare the greens. They managed to remain calm and later they turned around the mistakes of the opponent in their favor and reduced their own to the minimum. In the 24th minute a very good attempt to score made Simao. Then followed the several in a row unsuccessful attempts of the greens to score. In the 37th minute the hosts also had a good attempt to score (made by Riise).

The 40th minute is the time when the guests scored their first goal – cold blooded and skillfully made (from a penalty shot) by Cisse. The total turning of the score in favor of the guests came in the 43rd minute when Ninis scored a wonderfully executed goal. Few minutes before the end f the first half Cisse managed to score also the third goal in the game after a pass by Ninis and with this the joy of the greens escalated to the infinity… In this way the first half ended with a score 3:1 for the guests. In the second half the hosts were aiming at scoring a second goal and made three attempts to score in the first five minutes. The 66th minute is the moment when they scored their second goal – again after a kick from Riise. The greens also did not stop pursuing their chances for… a fourth goal. A great chance to do that they had just before the end of the game when Salpingidis sent the ball towards the goal post of Doni and it was  only a miracle that prevented it from entering in the net – it hit the post twice and at the end the goalkeeper caught it.
