The death of Konstantinos Tsalikidis is undoubtedly a suicide. Before putting the end of his life, the employee of Vodafone has left a note which leaves no place for doubt that his suicide is related to the phone conversations tapping by the company. To his relatives Mr. Tsalikidis has told that the company he works with will close down because of a great scandal and has admitted to them that he has been insulted by other employees in the company. He was thinking to quit the firm, which according to his words “was a matter of life and death”, announces a report of the newspaper “Vima”.

It is not by accident that the 39 years old employee of Vodafone was an authorized user of the software for legal telephone tapping of the company and receiver of the related materials from the supplier company Ericsson. These are the main findings of the secret conclusion of the prosecutor Ioannis Diotis which is 16 pages long and writes about the death of the Vodafone employee Kostas Tsalikidis in March 2005, just a while before the telephone tapping scandal arose.

The conclusion of the prosecutor is a key document in the case and is kept secret for four years, however members of the parties in the Parliament insisted on its publication in the past few days. To the document are attached the testimonies of all people involved in the case and are described in details the last conversations of the employee of the company.

According to the conclusions of Mr. Diotis the Tsalikidis family has filed a complain on January 29th 2010 against the board of directors of Vodafone at that time and will ask for the rehearing of the case by the Commission for the institutions and transparency. According to the family it is a mater of a murder. They claim that “his death and the deletion of important data of the illegal software of Vodafone are acts of the competent employees of the company with the aim of destroying everything before the rise of the scandal”.

The report of Mr. Diotis is comprised on June 20th, 2006 and its main goal was through the research of the causes of death of the 39 years old Vodafone employee, to shed light on the case for the telephone tapping in the company. Mr. Tsaliikidis was found hanged on March 9th, 2005 in his apartment on No. 18 “Evklidiou” street in the neighborhood “Kolonos”.

According to the expertise of the coroner Dr. Georgios Di Lernia on the body have not been found traces of violence or fight and his conclusion is that it is a matter of suicide. To the same conclusion also came the deputy general of the Greek police at the time Mr. Siros, who has undertaken the clearance of the telephone tapping case by the orders of the former minister of public order Georgios Vulgarakis.
