Early this morning the requiem service for the anniversary from the Alexis Grigoropoulos’s murder was held in a private family ceremony. One year ago, on this day, the 15-year old boy was killed in a fatal police shooting, causing a wave of vast riots. Family and friends of the young boy gathered at the Paleo Faliro cemetery where, next to the white bed of flowers on his grave they placed a poster saying “Eternal!”

Last night, a group of young people held a wake for the boy at the corner of “Tzavela” and “Mesolongi” Streets in the district of Ekzarchia, where he was killed. The event started in peace but later on some anarchists attacked the police. 101 people were arrested, 12 of them spent the night and are being prosecuted today. Another 61 anarchists were held by the police in the district of Keratsini.

Early this morning policemen broke into the premises of the Aristotelian University in Thessaloniki. Students have occupied the university at the murder anniversary, throwing Molotov cocktails on “Egnatias” Ave, provoking police actions. 8 people were arrested.
