A pouring rain showered Attica yesterday and flooded the region in Parnitha, which was burnt by the wildfires last week. The citizens of the area are scared about what is going to happen in fall and winter during the rains, because many houses and stores got flooded from the overflowing river. Except for the floods, many cars were stuck in the middle of Philis Boulevard and the fire department received more than 50 phone calls for problems caused by the rain.

After the fire destroyed the forest, the trees, which were stopping the water, can no longer save the citizens in the area and their properties. And so, after the river, which passes through this region in Parnitha overflowed, the water left for the populated areas and flooded Philis Boulevard, writes Ethnos newspaper. The waves carried garbage and many branches, which got stuck in front of house doors and all drivers were surprised that even before summer is over, there are already floods.

The citizens of the region asked the Ministry of Public Commissions and Infrastructure to take urgent measures, because during fall and winter they are always victims of floods. They want a bridge to be built, where Philis Boulevard is right now, in order for the water to drain away and not to flood the houses.
