18 bottles of lighter fluid with a cloth in the neck, a pistol, light bombs and gas masks were discovered by security forces. They were hidden in one of the public sewage pits in the Athens neighbourhood of Exarcheia.

The police discovered the hiding place after determining that there was increased traffic around the area of the pit. According to information in the media, so far, the authorities have found the identity of the people who had put the weapons in the sewers of Exarcheia and these people are currently being sought.

One theory suggests that the home-made bombs were intended for an attack on security police buses in front of Exarcheia police station. Another theory suggests that the Molotov cocktails were supposed to be used during the marches on May Day.

Neither of the two theories has been officially confirmed yet, but even during the May Day meetings familiar sources commented that this time the protests would not end with clashes: "The people attending the meetings are too few and anarchists cannot mingle in the crowd, in the case of a collision with the police."

Meanwhile, the police have arrested six young people who are suspects or wanted for involvement in

criminal and terrorist activities. One of them was released, since no incriminating evidence against him was found. A woman managed to escape through a bathroom window in the cafeteria, in which the wanted individuals were captured.

Those arrested include Phivos Harisis - Poulos, born in 1990 in Athens and Anargiros Dalios, born in 1991, also in Athens. Their names are associated with the bombing of the shopping centre "The Mall of Athens" early this year and complicity in the robbery of the branch of the Agricultural Bank in the village of Philotas near Florina on 15 November 2012, during which 110,000 euro were stolen. According to the police, the money was used for funding of terrorist activities. DNA evidence suggests that the two young men are directly related to the terrorist organisation "Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei" and have been sought since February 2013.

According to Ethnos newspaper, Dalios also tried to escape when the police anti-terrorist forces raided the pub in the neighbourhood of Nea Philadelphia, but he couldn’t escape far. After a few minutes of chasing, the 22-year-old was captured. His DNA was found both in the hiding place of the "Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei" at Syngrou Avenue in the capital and headquarters of the terrorist organisation in the city of Volos. Genetic material, which has been found in the rendezvous points in the neighbourhood of Halandri at Tourkovounia Street, Galatsi in Athens, also links his friend and collaborator Phivos Harisis - Poulos with the same organisation. Poulos is associated with the robberies in the village of Velventon and Kozani.

Anargiros Dalios is associated with other robberies, too. One of them includes the bank robbery in the Athens neighbourhood of Neo Iraklio. The robbers entered the branch in a wheelchair in order to be able to bring in their guns unnoticed. After leaving the bank, the group left the wheelchair and the police collected the first DNA evidence of the identity of the attackers. Subsequently they matched evidence collected from the hiding places of the terrorist organisation.

The other robbery, which involved the former student, was of a branch of the national post ELTA near Palio Faliro on 31 July last year. The criminals used a pram this time, in order not to be detected by metal detectors. In this robbery, Dalios made another mistake and dropped one of his gloves.

On Wednesday evening, Dalios and Poulos were sent to a prosecutor on charges of participation in a terrorist organisation and complicity in an armed robbery (which is a felony) of the Agricultural Bank in the village of Philotas, as well as possession of fake documents. The two of them denied the charges and chanted "Long live anarchy!" They also shouted slogans against judicial journalists upon leaving the courtroom.
