(Besides the financial penalty the team was initially banned from playing in tournaments for an entire sports season). The game between the two teams which turned out to be lethal for the team of Syros and his Bulgarian coach took place on Syros island in November last year. During the game the atmosphere was particularly tense, and the hosts definitely had a very bad luck – many of the players got traumas, however they kept on playing until the end. Fighting with their injuries and with the enemy’s team they were aiming at victory at any cost. The culmination came at the fourth set when after an attack of the hosts the referee gave three points to the guests and despite of their efforts Finikas lost the game. A lot of protests followed by the fans of the team and by the coach himself. The team of Patras on the other side also reacted and a sight was created which very few people would want to witness. The volleyball legend from Plovdiv will take his position in Finikas some of these days and he is planning to make up for the lost during the procedures for the appeal for preparation of the team
