The game between Panathinaikos and AEK, which took place on OAKA stadium in Athens ended with 1:1. Although the green team failed to show their best to the assembled numerous fans in the stadium, they presented a particularly spectacular game with a lot of tension and strong emotions. Victory was important for both teams and this could certainly be seen on the field. Both teams pursuit on goal opportunities and created such with zeal that could have intrigued even non soccer fans.

The game started very dynamically and during the first ten minutes the first goal attempts were recorded. During the 6th minute the green team attacked the enemy door - Karagounis passed the ball to Katsouranis in a well thought goal position but the ball went outside the field lines. AEK did not take too long to respond to Panathinaikos’ attack – the team scored a goal in the 3rd minute. During the 18th and 19th minutes the green team had many chances for goal but they were not realized. During the 20th minute, there was another good attempt for goal but the yellow-black goalkeeper saved the ball. In the 22nd minute the green team showered its opponent with attacks - with three consecutive goal attempts, they showed to the audience that they are highly motivated to fight and really want the victory. The culmination point came when Dimitris Salpingidis scored a goal in AEK’s door and managed to equalize results in the 27th minute.

During the 38th and 39th minutes the attacks and both teams increased and the ball was now on shifts in front of both goalkeeper’s doors, which drove the fans insane in the true sense of the word.

The goal attempts and the agony continued until the end of the first half.

The second half did not differ from the first one in terms of being dynamic. All players were still highly motivated to win and pursued all goal opportunities but change in the score was not reached. Goal attempts lasted from the first minute to last. From the first minute of the second half Cisse entered the field with an attack. However not only this attempt of the Frenchman ended in failure. During the game he failed to show his true abilities – it seemed as if that night the striker Cisse was not that one we all know. In 16th minute Salpingidis broke through AEK’s defense and sent the ball to Arabadzis’ door but it hit the post. Very good chances for the green team to score came in the 25th (done again by Cisse), 27th, 30th, 40th and 42th minute.
