They had not even to guess the hairstyle of Djibril Cisse to win the match with Panathinaikos ... The Danish team just took advantage of the unforgivable mistakes of the greens and gained the 3 points more easily than expected. The Copenhagen team beat Panathinaikos 2-0 in a Champions League match that disappointed more than 50,000 fans of the greens that gathered at OAKA Stadium in Athens... So, not the mass triumphed at the stadium last night but a small group of people – about 350 Danish fans.

The game of Panathinaikos was confused and had no zeal. The team could not use the chances to score that were not missing at the beginning of the game. Cisse tried to score from a distance already in the first minutes. The goalkeeper, however, removed the ball and the first cries of discontent roared from the stands. Then, Ninis tried to score in the 17th minute. The goalkeeper of Copenhagen blocked him too. Minutes later, the guests proceeded to counter attack. Vingaard attacked the net of Tzorvas, but the ball came out high above it. The fatal moment for the hosts came in the 28th minute when the former player of Panathinaikos and current striker of Copenhagen N’Doye shot the ball right into the Greek net that was empty, without goalkeeper. An error of Tzorvas led to the drama as he was away for no reason from the field he had to keep. The people on the stands did not remain indifferent to the extremely irrational behaviour of Tzorvas and hard miscalls rained from the stands. Tzorvas himself also could not believe what happened and he needed time to recover as the whole team too. Cisse tried to change the result with a long shot in the 35th minute, but the ball went out again. The final defeat came during the 37th minute when the Danish players outsmarted Tzorvas and Vingaard did what he could not do before. The striker skillfully scored a goal to the greens. The atmosphere at the stadium broke down completely. It became clear for everybody that Panathinaikos is not the same team after the World Championship held in the Republic of South Africa. The disappointment on the field was obvious. At the end of the first half Luis Garcia tried to create a goal chance and passed the ball to Cisse, but the Frenchman once again shot the ball out.

The second half brought a yellow card for Gilberto Silva, the second in a row. The Brazilian left the field and with him the hopes of the greens that they could change the turn of the match left too. The hosts played without zeal, and only a miracle could save the team last night. On the contrary, the guests were chasing new opportunities to score. Nørregaard threatened the Greek net in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and the score didn’t reach 3-0... The greens missed consecutive chances to score. Cisse sent the ball to the door of Copenhagen in the 75th minute, but it fell out again in the spirit of the game. Leto attacked the Danish net but he could not change the result either.

Given and the heavy 5-1 loss from the team of Barcelona, the good shape of the former champions of the country is really under question...
