What did the past 2009 bring to the three largest football clubs in Greece? The year was very successful for Olympiakos. On it’s personal internet page coach of the white and red team Ziko expressed his satisfaction from the results which the year 2009 brought to him and his team. In 2009 Olympiakos had 58% success rate. Regardless of the fact that he talks about the loss of the team in the game with Aris, which put the team in second place, coach Ziko declared the year as a very successful and wished that 2010 will also bring him many reasons to be happy.

In 2009 Olympiakos played 53 games and has 31 victories. In Greece the team played 18 games with 11 victories. Ziko is not hiding his satisfaction from the image of the team and the way the members of his team are playing in the local games. It is interesting to mention that since the faith of the white and red team was given in the hands of the Brazilian, the team has never lost a game on the Karaiskaki stadium.

For the team of Panathinaikos 2009 was a turning point. It brought drastic change as a response to the not so good image of the team. The team send off the year symbolically – the greens parted with their coach, they turned their back to the past and opened a new page of the history of the team. By trusting their faith to new coach Nikos Nioplias and assistant coach the polish Krzysztof Warzycha they welcomed the new 2010 filled with hope and expectations.  

Unfortunately the 2010 is not so welcome for the team of AEK. 2009 was a particularly hard year for the team, filled with great problems for which a decision was not yet found. The vicious circle could not be broken even by the negotiations with the entrepreneur Charalambos Kazonis as an agreement was not reached. The huge debts of the team (the black hole reaches 5 700 000euro), the problems with the field and the resignation of the president of the team are a proof for the extremely bad condition of the team. The new year for AEK came in the process of creation of a survival plan. It is prepared by Nikos Notias and will be presented on January 20^th, 2010. It will not be surprising if the name of Dušan Bajević is missing…
