With the score of 5:1 in favor of the white-reds ended the friendly match between the football teams of Olympiakos and Roma, which was played at the Karaiskaki Stadium in Athens. The game from this night proved to Olympiacos, that when a team has a real desire to play victory became his ally...

The match started as usual with a hot atmosphere at the stadium and  quick goal on the part of the hosts. A goal to Roma scored as early as the sixth minute the new acquisition of Olympiakos Ariel Ibagaza. In this way Ibagaza opened the game and from the very outset he put the guests in an inconvenient position to be running behind in the score. From the stands followed violent exultation and huge Bengaly fires. Roma answered the attack on Olympiakos almost immediately. The transitory confusion occurred between the goal keeper Nikopolidis and Raul Bravo byalo cost the white-red team a goal, the only one for the evening. It was scored in the 11th minute by Jeremy Menez.

Once the result was evened the guests raised their hopes that may take the lead tonight and proceeded to new attacks. Roma managed to break through the defense of Olympiakos and created many phases for a goal. Ultimately, however none of them turned out to be strong enough to change the result. During the 31st-minute the player Perrota had a chance to put the ball in the goal post of Nikopolidis. The field in front of the goalkeeper had almost no defense but the chance slipped ridiculously  a milliliter away from the feet of the Italian. Good chances to score the teams also had during the 34th and 39th minute, when the players Tantey and Diogo tried to change the outcome. Remarkable was the attempt of Tantei who tried to put the ball in the goal post of Nikopolidis through a reverse kick. Nikopolidis found himself outside the goal post and the goal was almost hanging in the air. However, the ball ended up outside the goal post... Diogo subsequently sent the ball toward the goal post of Roma, however Bogdan Lobont saved it. Then followed good passes of Totti and Perrota and the ball found itself again to be in front of the Greek goal post. However without a result. Kicks were weak and found its end in the hands of Nikopolidis.

The strong enthusiasm with which the hosts played tonight was evident on the field. Some mistakes in the defense could also be observed, however they didn’t cost anything to Olympiakos. The first half ended with the score 1:1.

Roma started the second half with 6 new players, among who was also Julio Baptista. From the beginning the guests missed a great chance to score, and afterwards it was already too late for a change... The goals of the hosts started to fall like a rain. During the 51st minute a wonderful goal with a head scored Doudou, in the 60th Mitroglou, during the 78th Fetfadzidis and in the 84th Aris Soiledis.

Once they realized the turn of events the Italians made some nervous attempts to score. The psychological condition and the huge difference in the score had their influence. The attempts to score a goal were not accurate, and ended with an out. In the 54th minute, Albert Riera managed to make his way through the defense of Olympiacos with a good attempt to score, however Pardo caught the ball. In the 73rd minute towards the Greek goalkeeper was headed also Julio Baptista, but a collision with the Greek defense ended his attack.
