A new attempt of pirates to attack a Greek ship was discomfited by the international forces, which are fighting against the modern sea gangsters around the African coasts. The Ministry of Mercantile Marine announced that the name of the ship is United Lady, it is sailing under a Liberian flag, and it has a 27 member crew – 5 Greeks and 22 Philippines. The accident happened in the Gulf of Aden. The ship was servicing the destination Turkey-India when the crew noticed suspicious boats. The ship started making strange maneuvers and a helicopter of the international forces came and helped the crew. This way, the attack was stopped.

The Gulf of Aden is considered to be the most dangerous part of the world ocean and this is why at the end of 2008 the CTF-150 international forces (Combined Task Forces) were created, which are fighting the modern piracy and are protecting the commercial ships passing nearby the African coasts. Due to the practically non-existent government of Somalia, the pirate attacks are continuing and at least one part of them can be prevented.
