With the absence of the biggest names in gymnastics ended the national championship

The national Greek championship in sports gymnastics for adults and youngsters ended under the most precise organization in “Mykra” hall in Thessaloniki. With Vasilis Maras, Lefteris Kosmidis and Vasilis Cholakidis absent, the last year’s champion, Dimitris Markulis, easily won the title on the different exercisers with a cumulative result of 85,200 points.


The second place was for Kostas Barbakis from Kavala with 84,250 points and the third one- for Ksenofon Kosmidis from the Peristeri team with 84,200 points. This year, for the first time, the Greek gymnastics federation has founded a new cup for men in the memory of the leader in Greek gymnastics, Ilias Topradzis, in regard to the 10th anniversary of his untimely death. It was won by Stavros Kekelos, who reached the highest points for one day among the men- 15,187.


The leader among the women was Vasiliki Milusi (56,100 points) from the Kalithea team, who is going to participate in the Mediterranean games in Pescara, Italy. The former vice-minister of culture, responsible for the sports, Georgios Orfanos, presented the winners with their awards.
