Second volleyball victory for Olympiakos against its all time rival Panathinaikos. The clovers team put a lot of effort at the beginning of the game and quickly started leading with 7:2, by using many of Panathinaikos’ attack mistakes. Followed were a series of successful services by Ivan Milkovich, which turned the game around. This is when the advantage of the red-white team was obvious. With abundance of psychological power and calmness, the players took the game with 25:21.

Kournetas and Hoff were to blame for the final result of the game, because their excellent services and the unsure play of the Columbian Agamez, brought them the victory.

Even during the second game, the players continued with the same rhythm. The hosting side lead the game with 6:3 through Rivera but the green ones managed to equalize the score to 9:9. Following were a series of off the mark services but with the excellent game of Ivan Milkovich and Rivera, the red-whites reached to 25:19. In the third game, the psychological power of Olympiakos did not allow the visitors to find their rhythm. Milkovich oversimplified everything with his perfect attack and the only thing the opposing team or the fans could do, was to admire his play.

After the game Olympiakos’ coach, the Swedish Anders Christiansen said: “Our defense and attack were good. We have two victories but nothing is over yet.” Dimitar Djuric said that “we do not feel like winners at all. If anything, we were trying not to feel this way when we started leading the game with 2:0. On Monday, we will go to Glyfada and we will pretend this is our first game and I hope we will be luckier and we will win the cup.” Ivan Milkovich said: “The whole team played good and I hope I played good as well. The atmosphere today was great and it was one of the best in my career.”
