Explosion shook the most guarded part of Athens

Exactly at 09:30pm last night a massive explosion was detonated at the central Athenian Boulevard “Alexandras.” It is a miracle that there are no injured or murdered people. There are damages to nearby buildings and there is one burned car, which was parked close to the accident. Because of that car, the initial information was that the explosives were placed in it. In reality, the explosive was in a plastic bag, tied to a street post, right across from the entrance of the State real estate services. It is located in the best guarded area in Athens because it is 200m away from the Chief Directorate of the Greek police and right across from it, is the Supreme Court.

A police spokesman clarified that the escort of the real estate services is entrusted to a private security firm and the buildings of the Chief Directorate of the police and the Supreme Court are guarded by the police. The guard, who was on duty at the time, did not notice any suspicious people. Until now, the police haven’t found any debris from a clock mechanism, so they believe that the bomb was detonated with a remote control. Because there was no warning, the experts believe that the terrorists have been watching the area and detonated the bomb when there were no people around.

It is interesting to remind you that the State real estate services were the main mediator through which the Vatopedi monastery was buying real estate from the Greek State. As grreporter.info already wrote, British experts warned the Greek police to strengthen the security of people and institutions, which lately have gotten negative public attention. The anti-terrorism services have taken over the investigation of last night’s incident.
