Louis Tzoumas did not manage to rank for the European Championship in Torino for the long jump. Everyone was expecting to see a different Louis from the one they saw last year in Beijing and Valencia. He arrived in Torino hoping for a medal (even a gold one), but unfortunately did not manage to reach the final. “Managed” because he did everything wrong, in order not to get to the final.

All this is not happening for the first time, because in Beijing and Valencia again he arrived with the hopes for a medal but did not even get to the finals. Even though he was in a very good form, when he started the athletic event it looked like as if he was on a…different stadium. In order for him to get to the final he had to jump 8.00 meters but in his two first tries he jumped only 7.79m and 7.76…his third try was 7.60m.

When he understood how long he jumped, he was disappointed because he lost another chance for a medal. Of course, he would be disappointed – he is in perfect form. However, the most important thing – his biggest competitor Andrew How, did not participate in the European Championship. It seems that Louis is his best competitor, because alone, he managed not to make it to the finals and without a medal.

This was very unfair also for his coach Dimitris Vasilikos, because Louis is a sportsman born for medals. Unfortunately, every time before an important competition he blocks and cannot control himself. The same thing happened in Torino and it was very unfortunate. Louis Tzatoumas refused to give any comments for the Greek and the foreign media.
