The Cyprian Kiriakos Yoanoou and the Greek Kosta Banioti deserve a big “A” was making us proud on the second day of the European Championship in Torino. Kiriakos won a silver medal in the high jump and proved he is in great form. He also won another medal by an important organization in his country with a jump of 2.29m by the first try. The Russian Uskoff was the only one who jumped higher than him – 2.32m jump and took the golden medal.

This medal is the third one for the Cyprian. The other ones are from the World Indoor Championship in Valencia and the World Championship in Osaka. In order for him to complete his collection, he needs medals from the outdoor European Championship and the Olympic Games… with those twomedals he will be able to bring his career to a full circle. Also second, was Alexey Dimitris, who jumped the same height with the same number of tries.

When it comes to the young Greek sportsman Kostas Baniotis, all we can say is that he was great. Not only that he managed to make it to the finals but he also won sixth place and was close to winning the bronze medal. On his third try, he jumped 2.29m and if he jumped it from the first try, he would have won third place. With this jump, he managed to rank for the World Championship, which wil take place in Berlin during the summer. Next to him were the Greek team and his sister Yiota with another four friends of his, who came form Greece in order to support him.
