An Albanian citizen was arrested this morning in connection to the attack against Konstantina Kouneva. The Bulgarian was splashed with acid on December 23rd and since then she is in critical condition in the Athenian “Evangelismos” hospital. The Albanian was firstly arrested for traffic violation. Physically he looked like the attacker, which Konstantina described, this is why the police started questioning him about what he did on December 23rd. the answers of the 48 year old man were very contradictive and the case prosecutor ordered his arrest. Tomorrow, the man will testify in front of the investigator.

The Albanian has also worked in the cleaning firm and he and Konstantina were colleagues. In print outs of his home phone calls, the police saw that he has called Kouneva’s home number few times. According to the police, he has threatened her many times. The day after the attack he called her house and asked what her condition was. According to “Elefterios Tipos” newspaper, the suspect admitted his participation in the crime but according to zoula.gr he denied any connection to the case. The arrested man is most likely the one who held Kouneva’s arms and head while the other one splashed the acid.
