Five-star Olympiakos crushed Benfica

Once again, Olympiakos proved that it is a team with spirit, will for winning, and soccer skills. Last night at “Karaiskaki” stadium the team won against the Portugal Benfica with 5:1. 5 goals, four leading goal-scorers, and most importantly – victory, which gives them the chance to make it to the next phase of the UEFA champions league.

In the first minute of the game, Galetti showed the Portuguese they will have a hard game by scoring the first goal. In the 17th minute Patzadzoglou made the score 2:0 with his left foot. Only 7 minutes after that the Olympiakos fans were standing again, when Diongo made two Portuguese the lauphing stock of the stadium and made the score 3:0. Benfica managed to lower the score difference to 3:1 at the 33rd minute after a short kick by David Luiz. Before the first half was over, the Diongo-Galetti-Belluci trio scored another goal – 4:1. The final 5:1 score came in the 54th minute with another goal by Diongo.

Olympiakos’s next game is on December 3rd with Metalist, and the ranking in UEFA’s second group now looks like this:

1. Galatasarai 6 points


2. Metalist 4 points


3. Olympiakos 3 points


4. Herta 2 points


5. Benfica 1 point
