"Greece forward" and "Stability, cooperation, sincerity" are the slogans that the supporters of New Democracy are raising during the election rally. The rally is taking place now, in Athens' Omonia Square, and many candidate democrats of the right wing are attending it, including from Thessaloniki.

According to all opinion polls, the party has all chances of winning Sunday's parliamentary elections, but its lead is minimal and within statistical error.

The rally began with a video of the warm welcome of leader Vangelis Meimarakis during his election tour around the country.

Former prime ministers and leaders of New Democracy Costas Karamanlis and Antonis Samaras are in the square as well.

We have preferred Omonia Square for our election rally because it means unity", leader Vangelis Meimarakis said upon stepping on the rostrum and the people greeted him, "Here comes the future Prime Minister."

"We will win the elections on Sunday and will form a government of national unity, and man will be at its centre," said Vangelis Meimarakis from the rostrum. "Do not let SYRIZA take advantage of you arguing that it is what is new. What is new is here. The only new it has brought is capital controls that have caused huge problems for all entrepreneurs," said Meimarakis.

"Vangelis, go forward. The whole country is with you," was the response of the audience. "The Greeks no longer withstand the SYRIZA experiment and are tired of demagoguery. The SYRIZA experiment ends on Sunday," continued the leader of New Democracy. He accused SYRIZA of demagogy because it tries to show that its governing has helped the poor. "It has certainly not, the rich had a wonderful time while SYRIZA was in power," added Meimarakis. He did not promise much and talked in a positive spirit.
