A rally is being held on Syntagma Square under the slogan ‘A breath of dignity’.

People were once again called upon by social media to gather and protest against tomorrow's meeting of the Eurogroup. The Facebook message says it is time that the people took change into their own hands.

"We choose dignity and we wish for ourselves and for the peoples across Europe a big breath of change […] We carry on with perseverance and confidence," says the posting in the social network.

The government yet again congratulated people on their initiative to protest against austerity and said that popular support gave it strength. According to government sources, the protests in dozens of European cities are turning into a key factor for reinforcing the stance of the new Greek government in its negotiations with the partners.

More than 15,000 people had gathered at about 7 PM on Syntagma Square. While holding up banners and placards, they were chanting in support of Greece. What united the protesters, despite the differences of opinions, was the support of their government in the negotiations with its partners.

A big crowd gathered in front of the White Tower in Thessaloniki. People were clamouring for ‘leaving austerity and the Memorandum’ and voicing their solidarity with the government in anticipation of tomorrow's negotiations.

A number of protesters were holding Greek flags and also national flags of EU member states.

More than 2000 citizens in London and Edinburgh took part in demonstrations of solidarity with the Greek people. Left-wing parties from the UK and southern Europe were involved in the events. The key slogan of the London rally was: "No to austerity and victory for the Greek resistance!"

Protests in support of the Greek requests to limit the policy of austerity were held throughout the world: in Paris, Brussels, Stockholm, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Australia, etc.

Melbourne's centre was crowded with descendants of Greek immigrants within the Greek Lonsdale Street Festival. One of the focal points was voicing their solidarity with the Greek people.
