Four months after the murder of 4-year-old Ani Borisova, her mother made the revelation from the prison in Eleonas near Thebes, where she is staying at present. Dimitrina Borisova called the child’s father to tell the truth about the events and revealed her conversation with his friend Nikolai (Nazif Ahmedov).

"I asked him (Ani’s father - author’s note) ‘What did you do to my child? Did you sell her?’ We had a very bad quarrel and in the morning, he gave me his phone and said, ‘Talk to Nikolai.’ I took the phone and said, ‘Niki, please tell me what happened to the child. When did you last see her?’ Niki replied, ‘You must be very strong. Whatever happened, you have to be strong. I saw your child on 9 April for the last time.’ Then he hung up and I could not say anything else," Dimitrina said during a television broadcast on the Greek television E!.

Directly asked by the journalist as to whether she believed that Nikolai was involved in Ani’s murder, Dimitrina replied, "We are now telling the truth. Yes, I do".

Immediately afterwards, she said she believed that the child was still alive. "I believe that my child is alive. I do not know why, but I believe in it. I expect my child every day. I expect someone to tell me that she has been found. I cannot believe all that this man has done. I cannot believe it".

Commenting on the journalist’s question as to whether she was aware of the rumour that Niki may have passed away, Dimitrina Borisova said, "Yes, I heard something like he died. Just that I do not believe Nikolai. In no way do I believe him."

GRReporter recalls that the police officers involved in the investigation of the case are convinced that a third person participated in Ani’s  murder, as they have discovered the DNA of a third person at the scene.
