One more year the male team in water polo of Olympiakos wins the championship of the country in A1. The white-red team won against the team of Panyonios by 7-5 in the swimming pool in Piraeus. Tonight's victory brought the hosts the 23rd won championship in the history of the team.

The red-white team was only one step away from winning the title. During the last game with the team of Panyonios in the pool Nea Smyrna they won by 7-6 and... concentrated their glance at the next meeting of teams. At the pool in Piraeus the expectations of the hosts came to pass. They managed to prove once again that no one else but Olympiakos is the master of the pool.

The match started with the obvious superiority of the hosts. They had not difficulty to find their rhythm and quickly started to attack. Although the guests were those who opened the game with a goal of the player Mazis, Panyonios was "wandering"for too long in the waters of the pool. They couldn’t properly organize their attack, and could not boast with a particularly good defense either. However, Olympiakos did not wait long to respond to the goals of Mazis. Afrudakis and Teodoropulu proceeded to attack and the minutes ended with a score of 2-1.

The second series has brought better results for Panyonios. The team still had problems with the attack and lost valuable chances to score. Thanks to their even stronger defense, however the hosts were left with almost no chance for a goal. Minutes ended with a score of 1-1.

The third series brought the greatest success for Olympiakos. With the goals of Komatina, Hadziteodorou and Milonakis the team gained a significant advantage. It seemed there was no one to help the laying behind Panyonios. Before the end of the minutes Murikis finally scored a goal and so the series ended with a score of 3-1.

During the final set the gurests tried to make up for the difference in the score. These were also the minutes when they scored their maximum number for the evening. Mazis and Papadongonas scored them. Olympiakos response came one minute before the end of the match with a goal of Milonakis and a score of 1-2.

Olympiakos (Pateros): Milonakis, Hadziteodoridou, Komadina, Teodoropoulos, Afrudakis

Panyonios (Voltirakis): Mazis, Papadogonas, Murikis, Beristianos
