About 100 names of celebrities such as TV stars, popular singers, models, businessmen and other familiar faces from the Greek social life ended up in the list of clients of the recently captured drug bosses in the southern suburbs of Athens. Everything started after the for Drugs Enforcement Agency in the U.S. gave the signal to the U.S. embassy in Athens that they expect large quantities of drugs from the Netherlands, Italy and Germany to Greece.
After four months of investigation, local police arrested the two key players who are at the heart of the import and distribution primarily of cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana. According to the publication of the newspaper Ethnos one of the arrested is a 34 year – old man of Greek-Canadian origin with the initials SK. He was born and raised in Quebec, Canada in a family of Greek immigrants. In the early sixties of the twentieth century, his parents decided to settle permanently in French Canada, and initially they work as employees in a restaurant, and later they managed to open the family tavern. S.K. is married with two children of four and twelve years old and lives with his family in a coastal neighborhood of Athens.
His official business was the import of spare parts for vehicles and on the side he claimed that deals with real estate trade. The problem was that he had no formal office for neither the official one nor for the other activity. At the same time apparently he had a higher standard of living which he had achieved through an illegal activity. The most obvious of his financial status were the four Porsches, which he had.
The second man arrested by the police is 37-year-old American also of Greek origin with initials T.K. He was born in Philadelphia, USA but his father was Greek, and his mother is Irish. In the late 90's of the twentieth century, he came to Greece, where he got married and has a family. Three years ago he found a company importing electronic games last generation, with a headquarter Heroniso on the island of Crete. In the records of this company has been registered the importat of a total of 50 machines from Pennsylvania, and a year later the company was closed. According to media publications people close to T.K. describe him as a very pious man and the idea of being involved in an affair with drugs seems to them almost unbelievable. The source himself claims that even on the screen of his mobile phone, the man had an image not of his child, nor of his wife, but of the Virgin Mary!
After the arrest of the two men the police found about 2.5 kilograms of cocaine, 15.5 kilograms of marijuana and 7000 pills of ecstasy, as well as approximately 450 thousand euros. In the apartment of one of the suspects was also found a large number of securities and the Agency for tax crimes control believe that two detainees had used the stock exchange transactions to launder money. For the same arrest two days earlier Ethnos wrote that there were also found two guns, two kilos of dynamite, one M16 machine gun, 75 bullets, seven electronic scales, fake passports, driving licenses and identity cards, as well as 24 mobile phone .
The names of the clients of the drug dealers are not yet publicly known, but according to the information spread, among them are some very popular figures from the Greek Hi-Life. There are over 10 thousand records of conversations between the dealers and the buyers and soon many of them are expected to be called as witnesses in the investigation. Code names for some of the available drugs were DECO for a dose of cocaine, CD for the pills and frappe for a cocktail of pills.
