International Festival of Music, Theater and Dance in Volos

With beautiful palette of sounds, colors and different cultures will meet this year's Christmas celebrations the residents of Volos. As each year and now the municipality of the city with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism organized Volos international festival of music and performing arts which has prepared many surprises and creative events for all art lovers. The festive program starts on 19th December 2009 and ends on 12th January 2010 and comes back to revive as more aa possible the festive period and once again to deliver the joy of the people.

Each year the festival attracts thousands of spectators. Typical for the festival is what keeps the balance between the Greek and international element - the idea is to represent different cultures as well as focusing on regional Greek. That's why it has taken up more regional participation. The idea is to cross various art forms to be a bridge between dance, theater, music, oral traditions, art and mime.

The festive holiday program, which was prepared this year is particularly enriched and attractive. Participation in it will take Alkistis Protopsalti and Stefanos Kokalis concert "One piano, one voice", Yashoda Rao Thakore of India with the show "Dances and music from India" (who will also hold training seminars for those wanting to learn the secrets of Indian dance), Stelios Pelasgos as story-teller with live music and songs, Blue Jazz Fiction composition with jazz-rock concert, Catherine Erica Apostolopoulou Patriciu and Vassilis Agrokostas performance in 'Like it was yesterday ", Family Flotz Company from Germany (well-known actors theater group, dancers and musicians present a black comedy has been successful in many countries). Puppet of Ravenna will also take part and from Italy - Teatro del Drago, the artist Angeliki Kourkoulou and the composer Panayiotis Berlis will perform "Visual art and live music...on stage ..." , Atemitos theater group with its performance "Accused were 8 women" and Petit Opera du Monde.

Volos international festival of music and performing arts is the only winter festival in Greece. It is organized since 1995 and in it took part among others Urban Top of New York, Marcel Marceau, Hannah Siculus, Momix dance group and Inbal Pinto, Chris Herring, granddaughter of Chaplin - Aurelia, the Opera cast of Varna and Sofia Ballet cast as well as many other people from the art and culture society.
