The reasons that made a 30-year-old Greek hold hostage for hours a young woman in the central passenger lounge of the ferry "Kriti 2" with only a broken bottle are not yet clear. The ferry departed last night from Piraeus port to Heraklion with 614 passengers on board. The ferry crew delivered the ravisher to the port authorities and the police, and witnesses claim that he did not resist.
According to the information available so far, the man had no connection with the hostage but was very aggressive and angry and nobody intervened for fear of being attacked.
The woman was not injured, she is in shock from what has happened but has only a flesh wound in the neck and is in hospital for preventive reasons.
