With the score 73:54 finished the first match of the finals of the A1 between the basketball teams of Panathinaikos and Olympiakos, played at the Olympic Stadium in Athens. The victory of the green was explicit, and the difference in the score left no doubt that the home team was in great shape tonight. Panathinaikos really gave the best of them on the court. Due to the concentrated and well organized game they managed to beat champions with 19 points...

Greens were in very good mental state. The reason lies, of course, in the advantage of playing at home and in support of the heated fans who had literally filled the hall to the last line. Unfortunately, again this game did not passed away without the ugly scenes. The game was interrupted by bombs and firecrackers which exploded at the ends of the floor ... That was a signal that the control of the fans before they enter the court continues to be too low.

The match began with attacks by both teams. Despite the loss tonight the guests showed a strong start. The "Tune" of the red-white players has been given by Beverly and Penn and without any delay Big Sofo joined them. So the result during the first few minutes of the game frozed for a moment at 6-6 … The first more significant attacks by the hosts came from the player Fotsis. With his two baskets from the line for 3 points he moved Panathinaikos, to 14-6 lead in the result. The attacks of Teodosoch and Papaloukas managed to reduce the difference in the score and so it became 16-19. The next answer of the hosts was clear. They led by as much as 31-18. During the 30th minute score reached 35-22, during the 35th - 36-26 but thanks to the 3 points scored by Fotsis the half ended with 41-18.

The second half brought no change on the court. King continued to be the home team and the visitors were getting "confused" by their failures. The series of unsuccessful attempts for a basket were endless. In failure and embarrassment got entangled Josh Childress. The American tonight was light years away from his abilities and made series unsuccessful attempts for basket. During the 24th minute the white-red were behind with the impressive 22 points. Only six minutes later the difference was even 66-42 ... Sign that the game is actually "done". By the end of the meeting Olympiakos failed to catch up with the green.
