The game from the 29th round of the Super league between the football teams of Panathinaikos and Iraklis ended with a final score of 2:0 in favor of the greens and brought great joy to the fans who rushed at full speed in the OAKA stadium. With their victory the greens managed to get that one point they needed and won the championship for the 20th time in the history of the team.

The game between the two teams started spectacularly. In the very first minute Djibril Cisse scored a goal of the guests and raised the temperature on the stadium. In the next few minutes Panathinaikos did not stop creating opportunities to score. A good chance to score the greens had in the 12th minute, however they did not manage to take advantage of it. In the 33rd minute Cisse tried to score his next goal for the evening, however the attack he organized did not end with success. Their most serous attempt they made in the 32nd minute, however it also did not lead to the desired result. The first half of the game ended with a goal of Sotiris Ninis scored exactly in the 45th minute…

In the second half the greens did not stop trying to create positions to score. So in the 6th minute a very good attempt made Ninis, however the goalkeeper of Iraklis caught the ball. In the 17th minute once again he found himself close to the goal post of the opponents, however did not manage to arrange hiss pass and the ball went in the feet of the opponents’ defense…

His attempt to score in the 21st minute also made Gilberto Silva. Unfortunately his attempt was timid and the ball went straight in the hands of the goalkeeper. In the 25th minute Ninis scored another attempt for a goal, however it also wasn’t quite confident. The greens were overtaken by the desire to score another goal in this game… In the 35th minute a great chance to do this had Cisse, however it also didn’t have a success as the ball went far away from the bars of the goal post. In this way the score 2:0 put the end of the game and the beginning of the fiesta on the stadium. The fans greeted Panathinaikos with enormous Bengali lights, flags, champagne and mass apotheosis for their favorite team.

The victories of the greens over the team of Iraklis have almost become a tradition. The last loss of Panathinaikos against Iraklis is from the period 1978-1979. This is also the only victory of Iraklis over the greens in Athens. Out of a 49 games which the teams had in total Panathinaikos could be proud of 37 victories, 2 draws and only 1 loss. The last game between the two teams was in the period 2006-2007 when the greens won by 3:0 at the OAKA stadium.
