Greece will organize the first round of eliminations for the finals of women's water polo - World League. FINA assigned the organization of the first round of the championship in Greece and the news filled with more hope the Greek national water polo team. The ability for the team to compete on home soil means more chances for victory and qualification for the finals of the World League. Other countries, which will also participate in organizing the eliminations, are Spain, France, South Africa and the Netherlands.

Eliminations for the finals will consist of two rounds. The first will be held in Greece from June 9-13 and the second will be a week later, from June 16-20 in France. Participating in the second group will be Hungary, Italy, Germany, Russia and Britain, and for the second elimination round, which will be held from June 29 to July 4, the first two countries winners from each group will qualify. In the event that the organization of the finals is entrusted to a European country, the national team of that country will qualify for the finals, regardless of earned place in the elimination round. This means that only one country of this group will get a ticket for the finals.
