Greece holds the worlds ninth place in table tennis

The Greek national men’s team in table tennis got in the top ten table tennis teams of the world in the beginning of this year. The Greek team took the ninth position in the rank list of the International table tennis federation for January 2010. It is a great achievement for Greece to be among the first ten which it holds since December last year when Greece was taking the same position with a total of 255 points. Now the team is at the same level with the team of Russia with an increased number of points (256). With such a high ranking the team will definitely be able to take part in the first group for the World championship which will be held in Moscow in May 23rd until May 30th this year.  

In the same rank list of the World table tennis federation the women’s team of Greece is at 28th position with a total of 170 points. Compared to the last months of the previous year it kept its position, but it got more points. Here is the list of the countries who made it to the top ten – first place is for China with 274 points, second is for Germany with 272, third for Korea with 270 points, fourth for Hong Kong – 268 points, fifth is Japan – 266 points, sixth is Austria with 264, seventh is Croatia with 260 points, eight is Switzerland with 260 points, ninth is Greece with 256 points and tenth is for Russia with 256 points again.
