The match between the teams of Croatia and Greece of the classification rounds for Euro 2012 ended 0-0. The match was played in Zagreb. It has already become a tradition the matches between the two countries to end in a draw there. When the two teams played for the World Cup qualification rounds in 1996 the fight ended 1-1. The result of the friendly match they played in April 2001 again is equal, 2-2. The last night their powers proved equal again, by chance or not... Greece made its dream come true with the outcome on the stadium in Zagreb and won 1 valuable point.

The game of the Greek nationals was not particularly strong in the first half. Overall, however, the image of the team was better than during the game against Georgia. The players were more organized and more concentrated that was apparent in the beginning of the match. The level of protection was particularly high and did not allow the opponent to threaten substantially the Greek mesh. Sokratis Papastathopoulos was in great shape. He became the "wall" of the team. Еven the notoriously fast Olić could not cope with the Greek defence.

Croatia threatened to score in the fifth minute with a foul of Modrić but Sifakis saved the ball. The hosts made other attempts to attack but the Greek defence, however, successfully eliminated any danger. The aim of the nationals was not to allow the Croats to score. Croatia did not place the Greek team at special risks but the Greeks themselves did not attack seriously. The peak point of the match was in the 18th minute when Samaras shot to the door of Runje, but the ball came out.

Croatia played better in the second half. In the 47th minute the player Jelavić scored. Subsequently, however, it was canceled as offside. The same thing happened two minutes later when Papastathopoulos scored a goal with his head ... Right after that Rakitić tried to score a goal to the blue-whites. The goalkeeper Sifakis saved the ball and kept the 0-0 result.

After the 70th minute the Croats became visibly offensive and stepped up the pace of the game. Kranjčar tried to score in 82nd and 83rd minute and Eduardo in the 89th minute. Eduardo dashed  to the mesh of Sifakas in the 93rd minute but Papastathopoulos proved to be real wall this time...
