30 members of Golden Dawn gathered at the polyclinic of "Doctors without Borders" in Perama on Thursday and chanted slogans against immigrants while there were dozens of patients there, including children of both immigrants and Greeks. The polyclinic of "Doctors Without Borders" is responsible for a large region and dozens of patients come to it every day.

The action was carried out a few days after the leader of the local organization threatened that Golden Dawn would "finish the members of the Workers' Front PAME" in the region.

Golden Dawn members cried "Blood, honour, Golden Dawn" and "foreigners out".

"Doctors Without Borders" claimed that the children were scared, and volunteers and staff immediately closed the windows and doors and called the police. Golden Dawn members went away after a while.

It should be noted that this is the third time that Golden Dawn members have tried to terrorize "Doctors Without Borders" in Perama. Such actions were carried out in February and September 2013, shortly before the murder of Pavlos Fyssas.

"Doctors Without Borders" made a statement, which emphasizes the following:

"As for the questions which were raised today after the statement of the Deputy Minister, 'Doctors Without Borders' are required to make clarifications about a specific supply of hygiene materials within the emergency programme of the European Refugee Fund. The choice was made according to a sole criterion - the lowest price of the tenders submitted to the competent committee of "Doctors Without Borders". We recognize that, unfortunately, we have not identified this offer with its supplier.

The community has known our opposition to fascism, racism and their exponents for 24 years of the existence of "Doctors Without Borders". We received yet another attack from Golden Dawn against our clinic in Perama just a day before that. Our fight for human rights is continuing despite terrorism."

Ilias Panayotaros,

The statement came after the Office for Combating Economic Crimes and the Prosecutor’s Office received a signal from the Ministry of Labour that Golden Dawn MP Ilias Panayotaros, shop owner of "Falanga", which sells military clothing and other goods with the emblem of Golden Dawn, supplied hygiene products to "Doctors without Borders".

The verification of independent accountants showed that the goods mentioned in the invoice (toothbrushes, toothpaste, foam, antiseptics and others) do not correspond to the activities of the specific provider, said the Deputy Minister of Employment. The invoices from 30 July 2012 amount to 25,000 euro. Part of the money which the businessman MP received comes from the European Refugee Fund!
