Exactly at 09:50PM the future Greek PM Georgios Papandreou came out of his house in Kastri, together with his wife Ada and was greeted by supporters, who have gathered in front of his home. He waited for the final exit poll result, which showed that his party PASOK has a lead of almost 10% in front of New Democracy, which is PASOK’s biggest victory since 1981.

A while before 07:00PM many PASOK supporters gathered in front of the party’s headquarters on Hypocrat street and started celebrating right after they heard the first exit polls. When he arrived at the headquarters of his party Elefterios Venizelos – one of the most important PASOK figures, former minister of culture and probably a minister on the future government – confirmed that this is a great historical victory for PASOK, which recognized that it is carrying great responsibility because the people are expecting a lot. “We will answer to the challenge and we are completely aware of the responsibility we have.”

A bit after Elefterios Venizelos, the leader of PASOK Georgios Papandreou came to the party’s headquarters. He was greeted with a lot of enthusiasm by his supporters. Mr. Papandreou will stay at the headquarters and will await a call from the former PM Kostas Karamanlis and after that will leave for the conference center in Zapio. “Together we will change Greece,” said Georgios Papandreou when he voted in Nea Eritrea around lunch time.

Until now the results show that PASOK is winning in Athens and in Pieria, which happens for the first time.
