The New Democracy leadership has convened an extraordinary meeting of the executive committee of the party. The meeting is scheduled for twelve o’clock and Antonis Samaras is expected to make a statement about the election results, the political developments of recent days and the future of the party.
Commentators believe that the blue leader will invite all deputies, who have separated from the party in recent years and established new parties, to return. The aim is to create a European centre-right front against the extreme ideas of the radical left SYRIZA that would completely destroy Greece.
A meeting of the parliamentary group of the newly founded party of Panos Kamenos - former minister in the government of New Democracy, will take place in parliament an hour earlier. Newly elected deputies will discuss the emerging political situation and will determine the position of the party.
Later, Antonis Samaras and Panos Kamenos will meet with Alexis Tsipras within the context of his attempt to form a government.
