A 25-year-old man was shot and another man aged 23 was wounded in the eye during an Easter celebration, which turned into a tragedy in Miriokefala, Crete.

The exact circumstances of the tragic incident are still unclear. It is not clear whether it was an accident or an interpersonal conflict between the two young men. The police are investigating the case, and police presence in the area has been increased in order to avoid further clashes.

An ambulance took the two men to hospital in Rethymno, where the death of one of them was confirmed. According to Creteplus, the condition of the other is not worrying.

Meanwhile, the American, who was severely wounded by fireworks on the island of Santorini during the night of Easter, is fighting for her life. Another six people were wounded by the explosion of hand-made fireworks. Yesterday, the woman underwent abdominal surgery and is now in the intensive care unit.

Because of this incident, two Greeks, aged 34 and 23, who were arrested for causing serious bodily injury by explosion and breaking the law on weapons, will be brought to the court on the Island of Naxos today.

Besides the American, three other Americans were also wounded - two women, aged 51 and 53, and a man, 55, as well as a 50-year-old Greek. A 23-year-old Greek and a 24-year-old man were slightly wounded, as well as a 27-year-old woman from Cyprus.
