Dragasakis’ first meeting dedicated to the banking sector was with the manager of Piraeus Bank Michalis Sallas. According to Greek media, the main topic of the talk was how to set in motion the country's economy.

Government sources indicate that Dragasakis and Sallas also discussed issues related to capital inflows to the economy. The same sources said the meeting proceeded with a good atmosphere.

According to To VIma, In his earlier public statements, Dragasakis has pointed out that changes in the management teams of Greek banks have to be made carefully and without affecting the interests of shareholders. At the same time, he stated that the changes should be such as to ensure that government representatives on bank management boards hold their dealings under genuine and profound control.

In this context, changes are expected across managements of systemic banks, once they are agreed with their majority shareholders.

To Vima reminds that under current legislation the state has no voting rights in the appointment of bank management members.
