Thousands of people flocked to the centre of Athens to take part in a meeting in support of the Greek government and against the policy of the European Union, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund. The meeting was organised by social networks users, such events were organised in Thessaloniki and other Greek cities.
     This is the first major demonstration in Syntagma Square after the government of SYRIZA decided to remove the iron fences around the building of the Greek Parliament.
