The father of 4-year-old Ani Borisova admits that he is responsible for her being missing and knows where she is, as reported by the Greek news site newsit.gr. According to the report by journalist Theodosis Panou, he was the person to whom the child's mother, Dimitrina Borisova, had entrusted her before leaving for Bulgaria.

The man is a Bulgarian citizen too. Correcting today’s earlier statements that he had voluntarily appeared at the police station, the report on newsit.gr states that he was apprehended in the centre of Athens this morning, and that he had been detained in the past for drug-related cases.

Initially, the man said he knew nothing about the case. During the interrogation, however, he contradicted himself and eventually admitted that he was responsible for Ani being missing.

After the four-hour-long interrogation he confessed that lately his former partner and mother of the child had had an affair with an older man from Germany who was sending her money. "I was afraid that she would take the child and leave for Germany with her," he said.

So far, however, the man has not indicated Ani’s exact location.
