The election of a new president of the Greens was postponed for Wednesday, 02.06. At the meeting, held today at the headquarters of the team the Board of directors was not unable to raise suitable candidate for the presidential chair. As it could have beeen expected Nicholas Pateras did not appear in the conference room. The president of the basketball club Thanasis Yanakopoulos did not appear as well. To the proposal made a few days ago from the greens for Yanakopulos to lead the football team he definitely refused.

Other nomination for the available seat agreed on by the majority did not appear in this critical moment. In relation to the tense situation Antonis Antoniadis urged all shareholders to propose a candidate for president who could be adopted at the next meeting. Then is expected to be elected also a new executive committee of the team.

Offended, and impatient for an immediate solution were the gathered before the offices of the club fans of Panathinaikos. They were about 200-300 in number and chanted against Yannis Vardinoyanis and often even resorted to, and some offensive remarks. "Sell and leave" was written on a portrait of the shareholder depicted as Hitler. "A union with the devil means betrayal" read another slogan put in front of the offices. fans demanded for Nicholas Pateras to take back the team. They commented that it was unfair after having led the club to the top of the football Championship to withdraw and his place to be taken by someone else.

Nearly two hours after the start of the meeting a delegation of five fans was admitted to the meeting of the management. Fans insisted to express their views and try to convince the board from up cose that Pateras is the one man leader of the team.

The protest of the fans was held without any incidents. Besides the insulting remarks addressed to Vardinoyanis and his family the greens did not violate the order and peace in the region. Of course, the police helped for this, who controled the site from start to finish.
